Street resident Bryan Nunez, 25, was killed in Churchville at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28 after crashing his Acura TL on Route 136 near Asbury Road, according to officials.

The preliminary investigation found that Nunez was speeding on Route 136 near Asbury Road when he lost control, traveled across the opposite lanes of traffic, and left the south side of the roadway, striking a utility pole.

Upon impact, police say that Nunez was ejected from the vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene. It is unclear if he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.

The incident led to a closure of Route 136 for approximately eight hours to allow state police to investigate and to repair the utility pole.
